Winner of the First Annual Student Marketing Conference!

Hai Yen is an international student from Viet Nam. She has been in Canada for three years, and studies Marketing at Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops, BC. As a last year marketing student, Hai Yen is also taking Hospitality Management Diploma courses from American Hotel & Lodging Association. She is also a member of Hospitality Sales and Marketing Associations International (HSMAI).

Hai Yen recently read a research paper "Marketing Strategy in the Era of Ubiquitous Networks" by Hisao Nakajima, in which he mentions about ubiquitous marketing. Inspired by the article she created this year's award winning presentation and created the term of "U-marketing".

Hai Yen chose to enter the contest because hospitality marketing is her passion. In addition she was motivated by topics and content covered by the conference. Online Revealed Canada sponsored her trip to the 2007 Conference in Toronto where Hai Yen was presented with her award and she "revealed" her presentation.

"I feel like I've achieved something very important for myself." Hai Yen commented, "And I am very excited about going to the conference to meet and learn from many professionals in the field."

Online Revealed Canada is a "grass roots effort" to provide education in online marketing for the Canadian Tourism Association and contribute to the next Generation of Internet Marketers through the Student Award Contest.

"The executive team of the Online Revealed Conference felt extremely passionate to recognize the contribution students will be bringing to online marketing in the next couple years," stated Alan Young, Vice President and Event Co-Chair, "We are pleased to have created the First Canadian Online Travel Award and Hai Yen is a well deserved winner of this award."
